Filming Permits

We assist production companies, film crews, and photographers in their efforts to obtain filming and photography permits in Tel Aviv. Our goal is to provide guidance on location scouting, logistical support, and other related services. Please contact us for further information or to begin the permit process.

Which cases require a filming permit?

Filming for private companies, advertisements, films, television shows, and video clips, student films with a staff of over five students, filming involving public property or municipal sites, and usage of municipal services, with advance payment for water or electric system connection.

Application Process

Please submit the following documents via email to Tal Shaffir Avineta, Manager of Filming Productions Projects in Tel Aviv-Yafo at: Shafiravineta_t@mail.tel-aviv.gov.il, two weeks before the desired shooting date: photography application form, letter of undertaking, applicant’s photo ID, third-party insurance approval (for student films, school insurance is required), map of filming zones, detailed movie description or script synopsis. Approval Process

Municipal officials review the script, filming hours, and adhere to Municipal laws and regulations. The filming permit is usually sent within a week, and a special permit may take two to three weeks. Please note that certain locations require additional permits from specific administrations, including educational institutions and non-Municipal sites.

Filming Permit Costs

Daily production (six hours or less): 90 NIS. One or two days (6-12 hours): 150 NIS. One or two days (over 12 hours): 190 NIS. Production over two days: 230 NIS. Film students (with certificate): 50% off. Municipal worker time: 90 NIS. Parking, city asset utilization, other expenses: based on actual cost or city rate. We provide discounts for multiple locations.
